Dravida Kazhagam!

Now Playing: La Roux - Quicksand

Major Malayalam Fail: For the longest time, I thought 'nammal thammil' - between us - was actually 'nammal thamizh' - we the Tamils - which I understood to be some expression of pan-Dravidian identity, which I further took to be a very, very macro way of saying 'us.'

Really.

And then I was always so confused why people were using such a large-scale expression for such personal situations.

That is hilarious! Esp since I know just enough to figure out what's wrong with that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! OMG, I just read that out to my sister and we're trying to figure out if your Malayalam is on par with hers. Also, I've just re-related your aama story (again).

*sigh* Do you realize that that was in the 10th grade and I STILL haven't gotten over it? I'll be telling people that one when you come visit me when I'm institutionalized at a home for the elderly and senile. (You must come visit, don't let this put you off.)

@Stephen: OMG that is so cute. :-)

@Amrita: lol, it still makes me chuckle (and then hang my head in shame.)

@Hem: Your sister can keep me company in Malayalee Women W/O Malayalam (MAWOWOMA!) Also the aama story... I must to blog it! Plus, don't worry, when I come to visit you at the old age home (from my own older age home!) , I'll tell all your friends about your shameful addiction to a certain CW show... ;-)

:O Thou art full of evil. Methinks I should take back my invitation... *ponders for a while* Nah, I'd get bored if I did that. Come come!

Hem: Only now you've realized the full-of-evil bit? My guise of hapless haplessness is working!

*evil laughter followed by coughing fit*
